We just passed two weeks in a post-John Prine world and like many others, I'm still adjusting to the new reality. He was one of the greatest songwriters and most influential performers the world has ever known. HIs 50-year-old compositions were still being covered at open mics and coffee house folk gigs right up to the time we had to start social distancing and will be again as soon as we startup. Last month we marked the 50 year anniversary of the Summer of Love with music and stories. The summer of 1967 went by another name in many of America's urban environments - The Long Hot Summer- as over 150 cities saw uprisings, armed, violent conflict - often described as "race riots". Newark, Detroit, Chicago, Milwaukee and many more saw soldiers in the streets that summer. We'll explore the Long Hot Summer tonight on the Heart and Soul Radio Program on Blue Mountain Radio - KQBM...

I got to spend a few moments with one of my all time favorite musicians last weekend. Bruce Cockburn was kind and gracious. When I handed him a copy of the new Clan Dyken CD he said "Oh, Clan Dyken, I remember them, they recorded some of my songs." He recorded a KQBM station ID and played a great set a few hours later at the Kate Wolf Music Festival. So tonight it will be the Bruce Cockburn edition of the Heart and Soul Radio Program on Blue Mountain Radio KQBM 90.7 and 103.7 FM or...
